  • Why Should You Choose Real Artists over AI? Opinion by Colin Bright:

Artificial Intelligence is a remarkably new concept, yet it has already spread to numerous facets of our day-to-day life. With the usage of artificial intelligence models like ChatGPT, Stable Diffusion, and Midjourney, AI has gone from a rare luxury utilized by a select few, to a tool available for any member of the public to use. With this rapidly-increasing commonality, however, has also come controversy, most notably lying within the usage of AI in order to generate “art”. The most vocal detractors of AI-generated art are, as you might’ve guessed, artists. But why has it become such a tenuous problem within the online sphere? The most common answer to this would be that artists fear AI could potentially surpass them. But the truth is much more complicated. First, it needs to be noted that AI-generated art is inherently flawed; beyond the debate of what exactly constitutes ‘art’, and how human creation factors into that definition, it’s unable to fully create something of its own. AI-generated art is, in a single word, derivative. It doesn’t so much create its own pieces, but instead cobble together a “new” one from a combination of countless different pieces of art already created by people. It then works using its understanding of what something should look like based off of both the user’s prompt, and the art it cannibalizes for its own creation. This is to say that AI-generated art more or less steals from real artists in order to create its own. In some cases, you can even see the approximation of a watermark over AI-generated art, because of how common it is for real artists to use one. This is the real reason why AI-generated art is an outrage to artists. The reason it could potentially surpass human artists in the future is not because of its ability to create, but instead theirs. So why should you as a consumer care? For one, you won’t ever be guaranteed to get the result you want. AI can’t process and utilize feedback like a human can - to put it simply, they don’t speak the same language as us, and that inability to communicate and respond makes it impossible to get what you really want. Second, AI-generated art is a legal gray area. While technically it can in theory be copyrighted, the only reason that’s the case is because there’s been little consideration given towards AI by the federal government; the reason AI has been able to grow as much as it has in recent years is because no limitations have been put in place; a fact that’s likely to change in the upcoming years. So to ensure your future, and ensure the legitimacy of your commissioned logos, drawings, and all other mediums, use a human artist.

  • What Is Brand Identity?

Just how your personality makes you especially you, your brand identity is what makes your business stand out from the crowd. Your brand identity design is what builds your business. Basically, it’s the point where you and your customers meet. Your brand identity is what makes your customers recognize you instantly, and it’s what makes them come back. When people prefer your company’s products or services because you’ve created a strong brand identity, you also raise your brand image and increase brand awareness. Creating A Powerful Design Why is it so important to design and implement a well-developed brand identity? That’s because the design is the foundation of your brand identity. Your corporate design will determine how customers will perceive your brand. These tangible elements (things like your logo, website design, social media graphics, email design, business cards, uniform, and packaging) will accurately represent who you are as a brand. You need to have a clear brand purpose and positioning. By naming your target audience and differentiating yourself from the competition, you lay the groundwork for your brand to accomplish your purpose. Typography Typography refers to the font you choose for your branding materials. You can’t always use different fonts every time. Typography affects how people perceive your brand identity, your brand, and your messaging. As an essential element of brand identity design, you need to choose and set your fonts wisely. Color Palette It’s always pleasing to the eye when colors match or complement each other. Naturally, color plays a vital role in a company’s brand identity. Colors have meanings and psychological ties and this is especially true in building your brand identity. For example, if you want to be viewed as fun, accessible, and affordable, you can use the color yellow. Or if you want to be seen as sophisticated or modern, go for the classic black. A little research on colors will go a looong way. Forms and Shapes All logos have a shape. Although the differences seem subtle, the visual language that a shape communicates tells a lot about your brand. Think, a logo that is a circle and has soft edges is very different (and will get diverse reactions) from a logo that’s sharp and square. A circle logo can be seen as warm and gentle. While a square can be perceived as stable and strong. If you’re not confident with your art or design skills, you can always turn to a professional! With us at Trademark Art, you can take your business and ideas to the next level by using the original visual art designs and animations, adding musical and written content to create your one-of-a-kind brand.

  • tired of boring logo templates and bots?

When starting my own businesses, one of the first items on my list was finding a logo for my business. I began looking online for logos. I was so disappointed in the generic form templates I found. I decided to take it to the next level and pay to have a "designer" review the logo and provide insight and upgrades to the template design. I never spoke to a live person. Everything was online using the online "chat" and I became frustrated with the process and gave up. Based upon my own experience I wanted to create a platform where customers could work with real artists (not bots) to create one-of-a-kind logos and business branding. My desire to create a new (and better!) platform increased when I saw the incredible talent of so many freelance artists (graphic designers, musicians, writers, animators) that could be utilized instead of boring templates! Then, COVID hit and I saw first-hand how it effected the ability of many talented individuals to find internships and jobs (my oldest being one of them). Being a trademark attorney I also thought it would also be helpful to offer customers the option to engage legal services to trademark the creations. Out of a desire to offer a better platform for businesses and customers, like me, to find creative business branding and to match the talent of freelance artists with those customers, TRADEMARK-ART was created and launched. TRADEMARK-ART is a one-of-a-kind platform where customers can connect with real freelance artists to create logos, social media videos and posts, taglines and musical compositions and, if desired, file an application to protect the creation!
